About Electronic Skills Programme - Level 1 Basic

This course is a basic technical introduction to electronics (both design and manufacturing), basic electronics theory, and practical know-how required to work in the electronics industry at an entry level, such as a production operative, entry level technician or similar. Please note that you will be invited to start the course on the opening date once you have successfully registered on the learning platform.

What do I need to know before I start?

We expect no prior experience of Tech Lancaster courses or knowledge about the electronics industry to complete TL1 as it is a basic introduction, however a technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills is desirable. Our tutors are available to assist participants when needed, including group and one-to-one learning, however we also recommend that a flexible approach to learning is taken - we hope participants will take the initiative where they see their skills need improving in other areas e.g. basic maths and will undertake extra study as required. This extra study may include for example using other online resources such as BBC Bitesize which is a high quality learning resource for all levels.
